Living the Three Pillars of De-stressing: Practical Habits to Reduce Chronic Stress (and Its Real Health Costs)

Stress doesn’t just “live in your head.” Chronic distress shows up in your body, impacting sleep, focus, energy, mood, and long-term health. And in workplaces where conflict, bullying, or constant pressure is normalized, stress can quietly become a daily baseline that chips away at performance and well-being over time.

In this session, Scott Warrick, JD, MLHR, CBHP, CEQC will share a practical, engaging framework for reducing chronic stress through what he calls the Three Pillars of De-stressing. Scott connects the dots between workplace culture, brain health, and everyday habits that help you “repair and rewire” stress patterns so you can protect yourself personally and show up healthier at work and at home.

Expect an energetic, real-world presentation with takeaways you can use immediately, whether you’re navigating a high-demand role, supporting a stressed-out team, or simply trying to build better routines that make work (and life) feel more manageable.

What You’ll Learn

  • What chronic stress does to your body and brain—and why it matters long-term
  • How bullying and conflict amplify stress, and why a psychologically safe workplace can be a health-protective factor
  • The Three Pillars of De-stressing and how to apply them in everyday life
  • The role of sleep and hydration in brain repair and stress recovery
  • Simple, realistic strategies (including hobbies and pets!) that support mental health and resilience
  • Personal “stress protection” steps you can start using right away—at work and beyond
